I'll have to admit that it does look a bit unfinished because of the lower half of her body. As for the upper half (above her elbows), though, I can't really find anything negative to say. The pattern on her jacket looks natural (if I can say so) an so do the folds in her sleeves. Her face looks soft like porcelain, but still has some sort of a smoke color to it that testifies the journey she went through to go back home. As for her headscarf, I can't find anything to say that is simple looking, but nonetheless regal thanks to the light reflecting in it.
You might not have a high opinion about it, but as you said yourself: at least you're drawing again after this long block. You're on a good way, keep it up.

Yeah, I grabbed a brush and just smudged at the bottom for awhile just to cover up the remains of the sketch. I had bigger plans for this thing, but I just couldn't work on it anymore.
I think I connected with her when I painted in the earring. Which was the only blue thing in the piece. or..something. whatever.
Really, the purpose of this thing was for design and color placement only. D: I wanted an excuse to go into high-detail, but I failed at doing that. I guess I just needed to experiment with the colors together. I wish I could have worked the copper a little better, but silk is difficult to paint, and without proper reference, it's even harder. D:
But thanks. The fact that my two guys like it makes me feel a lot better about it. :3

Her lips were actually very inspired by a girl I saw on BMEzine. She was showing off a few neck tattoos, some mild gauges, and a vertical labret. But her lips were just so incredible. Pretty much what you see on Roy is what I saw on the girl. XD Normally I don't refer that close, but AUGH. Lovely.

It's good to see you again! How were your ap art finals? I think I almost died! Are you still going to the ART institute for next year?
I love her! I'm stunned by her hands! I'm starting to dapple in textures as well. Can't wait to see more of your work once school ends!

`karemelancholia is one of the most genuine deviants you could ever met. Always active and a true deviantART cheerleader and supporter in every aspect. You can always count on her to lend a hand or get involved, and you usually will find her doing large amounts of both at any given moment. She's consistently reports on contests around dA, showcases the efforts of her fellow artists and shows her charitable side through various activities. Besides all of this, she's a truly talented artist which is why she's an obvious choice for deviousness this month. Read More

Loving the style.

I think you did a wonder job on the entire thing but those two features stand out to me the most.
