Full view is really recommended, guys. (You people didn't tell me I was using the wrong tags. >_> )
Good god, y'all.
You know who I'm really thankin'.
I really owe it to Nicholas Hammersley and his amazing photography. Something about it gave me a wonderfully beautiful slap in the face and BAM. Kate was interested in painting environments.
He didn't seem to mind that I used some of his photos for reference for this composition, and I loooove him for it, and I plan to mention him for the rest of my art career. :B Whai? Because I love feeling so inspired.
So, I thank you.
On to the piece...
See, THIS is what I was talking about. All you people who were mentioning all the weird crap going on in that other sketchcrapthing? THIS is what I was talking about. Seee? I know what I'm doing. (Kinda.) :B
I spent several hours working on this all bent over my tablet, and I actually planned to keep track of the time, but HELL did I not do that. It must have been at least six though. Of constant work, I mean. I started it a few days ago, but it hardly too me days to finish it.
...Well. It depends on who you are and how you view these things.
I smell miso soup. My mom is such a good cook. :3 She feeds me....
Anyway... I am really super happy about this piece here, especially since it's my huge leap into the, uh... environmental world. So you gotta cut me some slack there. ;_; I'm neewww....
I don't know what my favorite part is, really. Usually I find something in every piece, but right here, gawsh, I don't know. I think it's...
My favorite part, I think, are the waterfalls. You've rendered them really well, cristalline feeling and all. It's purdeh. She fits very well in the environment, I say; and she looks cute. Goldfeesh. Hee.
Seriously, if that's one of your first tries at environment-making... I have no words to concretly express amazement.
Great. Job. Keep it up. !

Actually, I have a very personal link with the waterfalls, because ever since I was really young and venturing into my own worlds, waterfalls were a part of it. And I always wanted to paint waterfalls and put characters in wet, lush environments.
And now that I have, I'm just really happy with myself.

Thanks so much! I'm flattered. Truth be told, I've never painted water (except for those random sketches from last week ) so I'm so excited to hear that I did a good job! :B
As for detailed, the whole thing's made of scribbles, so I think you're just being silly.

This is absolutely breathtaking! The scenery, shadow/light is perfect in this picture. And you've done a beautiful job with the waterfall, and the water itself. All the colors compliment each other very well, and there's something so mysteriously delicate about the girl. You've done an outstanding job, this is a very magnificent piece!

Oh, thank you so much! ! I always try to keep all those components in mind, but if I pay too much attention things go awry. I was afraid that I did not have enough cool colors, so I'm so happy to see everything fell together after all!
:3 Thank you!
